EXPLORING LIFE IN A SAVAGE WAY (insatiable hunger for knowledge)
UN DÍA A LA VEZ
(ONE DAY AT A TIME)

These visual experiments were born as a lifesaver and ended up as a laboratory. After a breakdown I had in Lisbon, in August 2017, I felt the need to use all the tools at my disposal for not to be devoured by my own mind. Writing was no longer enough, and I had to stop with my diaries for a while. I needed to be focused on the present and confront my fears from other sources. I decided to translate all my nightmares --and paranoias-- into images to take away their weight, in order to become lighter, to empty myself. The challenge was to do it every day, using elements found at home. In that way, following the precept of "one day at a time" maintained by Alcoholics Anonymous -under which it is assumed that only that day you will not drink-, I also set myself a goal: just for today my mind will not eat me. Of course, my addiction was overthinking. To think in excess until I deformed reality, to analyse everything until I was intoxicated. The images are a mutant language, the permanent struggle against my own head.
